Welcome to Grasstown, population one.

Willie Cheeklin is the only person who still lives here. After the nearby lake was named Time Magazine’s “Most Poisoned Body of Water on the Entire Planet,” the town's former inhabitants—the rest of the Cheeklin family included—built a giant floating colony and tried to move their quiet pastoral lifestyle to the skies. Unfortunately, Willie had been engaged in a pretty intense bathroom moment, missed their departure and was tragically left behind.

One of his robot dogs just recently short circuited leaving him with just the one, which  he calls Fräulein Bucket, and an automated farmbot that he calls Needle.

Cheeklin runs a business which manufactures and sells products that are made out of recycled hazardous waste items. They’re very cheap to make (Fräulein Bucket does all the collection for him) and he sells them to tourists for eight dollars a piece, turning a pretty profit.

Cheeklin is doing pretty good, all things considered. He kind of misses his family but also figures he’s better off without them and good riddance because what kind of sick people would leave their beloved brother/uncle/husband behind like that, left to fend for themselves on the hostile shores of the Most Poisoned Body of Water on the Entire Planet?
